NOAH's social responsibility
By actively treating hazardous waste through chemical and industrial processes, NOAH contributes to several thousand tonnes of environmental toxins being removed from nature's cycle every year.
Even though our facilities – like all other commercial and industrial activities – have emissions, the environmental account for our business is still positive. We contribute significantly more to a good environment than we pollute it. We have good control and continuous monitoring of our waste treatment and our environmental impact. This is done through recognized methods, but not least through competent employees. Our approx. 100 employees have good training, i.a. through professional certificates, engineering and civil engineering education as well as other relevant education at college and university level.
Hazardous waste contains various substances hazardous to health and the environment. It is a prioritized political goal to ensure that as much hazardous waste as possible is delivered for proper treatment. This prevents damage to people and the environment. Annually, around 1.3 million tonnes of hazardous waste is delivered for approved treatment at various operators in Norway. Unfortunately, around 70.000 tonnes of hazardous waste still goes to unknown treatment.
