Production waste

Significant quantities come from industrial treatment plants for inorganic waste. The types of waste can be in both solid, dust and liquid form.

NOAH's customer offer within the reception and treatment of production waste provides significant advantages, and represents a future-oriented and environmentally safe solution for the industries. The solutions mean that NOAH takes over the total and final responsibility for the waste fractions that are received. Thereby, the customer avoids future problems related to the waste.

The treatment method is adapted to the nature and chemistry of the production waste in question so that the waste is converted into a stable form. This happens in processes where the waste is reacted, neutralized or immobilized in another way before final stabilization in the gypsum landfill.

Logistics costs are a significant factor when disposing of industrial waste, whether from an internal landfill or from ongoing production. That is why NOAH offers very cost-effective transport solutions by sea. The ships are adapted to unstabilized production waste so that masses with a higher liquid content can also be transported.

Acids and bases

NOAH receives all types of inorganic acids and bases from the surface treatment and chemical industry. These are waste products that contain large amounts of heavy metals that must be stabilized in an environmentally safe way.

Acids and bases can be received in all concentration ranges with the exception of hydrofluoric acid where the upper limit is 0,1% and organic acids. These waste fractions can be delivered per car or ship. NOAH is able to adapt to the customer's wishes and needs in terms of tonnage, delivery flexibility and logistics.

Various inorganic hazardous waste

The treatment solutions on Langøya are solid and flexible. This enables the reception of a wide range of solid and liquid inorganic hazardous waste.
Our chemists have the expertise to choose a treatment solution also for particularly complicated waste fractions of unknown origin and composition.
NOAH has permission from the Directorate for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety to receive radioactive waste below the exception limit in the Radiation Protection Regulations.
The miscellaneous category includes deliveries from the collection apparatus as well as smaller industrial enterprises such as:

• Residual fraction from vacuum evaporation of liquid waste
• Lime, cement, road salt, caustic soda
• Metal hydroxide sludge
• Various sorted goods from faulty production, warehouse etc
• Additives that cannot be reused in production or otherwise utilized industrially
• Slag and sludge from chemical treatment plants
• Activated charcoal from treatment plants
• Blowing sand, both hazardous and non-hazardous waste

Reception of the miscellaneous category of hazardous waste includes solid and liquid fractions from industry, municipalities, collectors and public institutions.
